What they don’t realise is that they aren’t actually humans. And they aren’t exactly gods, either, not yet anyway! Reed, a skilled alchemist created the twins, he isn’t their father but has a plan to raise them to the highest power and to claim their authority as his own.

7). Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Her options: to ride a motorbike, enjoy a drunken night out, go camping, have meaningless but thoroughly enjoyable sex, travel the world with just hand luggage and do something bad. 8). The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

The buildings and even the streets in Five Lights are disappearing, it’s a race against time and Flick must travel through uncharted worlds to stop Five Lights before it collapses and taking our world with it.

10). The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary

Tiffy Moore and Leon Twomey each have a problem that needs a quick fix. After being dumped by a cheating boyfriend, Tiffy urgently needs a new flat. Earning minimum wage at a publishing house means her choices in London are extremely limited. Leon on the other hand is a palliative care nurse, is more concerned with other people’s welfare than his own. Along with working nights shifts, his sole focus is raising money to fight his brother’s unfair imprisonment. Leon has a flat that he only uses from 9 to 5, Tiffy works 9 to 5 and needs a place to sleep. Their solution to the problem is to share a bed. As the unusual arrangement becomes a reality, they begin to connect through post-it notes left around the flat.

WWW Wednesday 5.8.2020

Hello my lovelies💕✨

Today I am bringing to you my second WWW Wednesday post. I have decided to do these every other week (at the moment) as I don’t feel like I am reading enough to justify posting one every week as I will essentially be repeating myself every week💕

Just like before I am going to be sharing with you the book I have most recently finished, my current reads and what i’m planning on reading next, I will also be giving you a brief synopsis of each book📚

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

SCARLET BY MARISSA MEYER❤️

I am currently reading Scarlet by Marissa Meyer which is the second book in The Lunar Chronicles series. In this book we follow Scarlet who’s Grandmother has gone missing! She meets Wolf, a street fighter who may know more than he is letting on in regards to the whereabouts of her Grandmother. She is loath to trust him but they are both drawn to each other. As they uncover one mystery they encounter Cinder, who has recently broken out of jail. Together they must stay one step ahead of the evil Queen Levana, who will stop at nothing to make sure Prince Kai becomes her husband, her prisoner.

I am 12% in at the moment and so far I am not loving it as much as I loved Cinder. I hope it gets better the more I get into it, which I am 99% percent sure it will.

WHAT HAVE I RECENTLY FINISHED?

Winnie the Pooh by A A Milne🐻🍯

I think everyone knows the story of Winnie the Pooh, this book contains stories about the adventures of Christopher Robin, Winnie the Poh and all of his friends. They go on wild expositions to find the North Pole, they rescue Piglet using an umbrella and use a balloon to get some honey.

I love Winnie the Pooh! A A Milne’s writing is gorgeous to and the story telling is amazing, it definitely gave me all the feels and took me back to the my childhood🥰

WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON READING NEXT?

City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab👻

Cassidy Blake’s parents are The Inspecters, a (somewhat inept) ghost-hunting team, but Cass herself can actually see ghosts. In fact, her best friend just happens to be one. Cass and Jacob head to Edinburgh, Scotland with The Inspecters as it is said to be ultra-haunted. When they arrive Cassidy is surrounded by ghosts, not all of which are friendly. She then meets another in-betweener who can see dead people, who tells Cassidy it is their job to send ghosts permanently beyond The Veil. Cassidy’s power will draw her into an epic fight that stretches through the worlds of the living and the dead, in order to save herself.

This middle grade sounds amazing, it has been on my TBR for so long and I cannot wait to start it. I really want to dip my toes into more spooky/horror books so I thought a middle grade might be a good book to start with. This will also be my first Victoria Schwab book and I cannot wait, I have another of her books on my TBR for this month💕

WWW Wednesday💕

Hello my lovelies

I am restarting my blogging journey with a new WWW Wednesday (originally hosted by A Daily Rhythm, and revived by Taking on a World of Words, I am going to be sharing with you the book I have most recently finished, my current reads and what i’m planning on reading next, I will also be giving you a brief synopsis of each book📚

What are you currently reading?

NEVERMOOR: THE TRIALS OF MORRIGAN CROW BY JESSICA TOWNSEND✨

Morrigan Crow is cursed! She was born on Eventide which means she is blamed for everything that goes wrong from thunderstorms to heart attacks. Morrigan is doomed to die on her 11th birthday, but when a strange man called Jupiter North appears as she is awaiting her fate he whisks her off to a magical city called Nevermoor. When she arrives she finds out that she is competing for a place at the Wunderous Society, for her to join however she must compete in 4 trials which are said to be dangerous and difficult against hundreds of other children. To stay in the safety of Nevermoor for good she must find a way to pass the tests or leave the city to face her deadly fate.

I am only 2 chapters in and so far I am loving it, it is so well written and I am definitely hooked. I have a feeling this is going to be a favourite middle grade of mine which I will be reading to my future children🥰

What did you finish recently reading?

FENCE VOLUME 1 BY C.S. PACAT✨

Nicholas is the illegitimate son of an ex fencing champion. He is a scrappy fencing wunderkind who dreams of getting the chance to train and actually compete. After getting accepted at the Kings Row private school, Nicholas is thrown into a cut-throat world. He finds himself facing the unbeatable and mysterious Seiji Katayama who is not only his roommate but his half-brother. Through clashes, rivalries and romance between teammates, Nicholas and the rest of the boys realise there is much more to fencing than just foils and lunges.

This graphic novel was really good, I’m starting to become a fan of graphic novels because the illustrations are always gorgeous and tend to get me out of reading slumps💕

What do you think you’ll read next?

A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES BY SARAH J MAAS🌹

Feyre’s survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill in a cold, bleak forest during the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the woods being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for flesh, but in order to do so she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price.
Dragged to a magical kingdom by a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre’s presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turns from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become and even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will loose him forever.

I cannot wait to read this book, I am such a big Disney fan and absolutely love Beauty and the Beast so I cannot wait to get stuck into this retelling and finally break my Sarah J Maas virginity🌹

Check back next week for another WWW Wednesday and keep everything crossed that I will be talking about different books🤞🏼

REVIEW: To all the boys I’ve loved before by Jenny Han💕

Lara Jean Song writes love letters to the boys that she has loved/had a crush on, she even addresses them and puts them safely away in her Mum’s hatbox. When the letters get posted to the recipients she must come face to face with all the boys she has previously loved one of which being her next door neighbour.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My thoughts
I had such a tough time thinking of a rating for this until the last part of the book where I just felt all of the emotions. My biggest problem with the book wasn’t actually the books fault but that I had already watched the Netflix adaptation which I loved so was very dubious about reading it.

I love near enough all the characters and the way they are portrayed. I love how her older sister Margot was portrayed having a much bigger part in the book. The one character I wanted more from in the book who had a bigger part in the movie was Lucas Krapf.

Just like every book to movie adaption there were so many things that weren’t included. I loved reading these and being able to use my own imagination as how they were being played out. My favourites being the scene between Peter, Lara Jean and his friends in the parking lot of Tart and Tangy and the road trip to the estate sale. I absolutely loved the ending of the movie compared to the ending of the book.

I can’t put my finger on why I can’t give this book a 5 star but there is something telling me that it’s ‘only’ a 4 stars. I’m definitely reading the next in the series before I watch the Netflix adaptation

5 Star Predictions

Hi Book Friends💕

  7. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
  8. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  9. The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend
